Compact-machine planning range

Published used excavators in the 6–10 tonne reference range.

Use this range to shortlist published machines whose model reference-weight midpoint is at least 6 tonnes and below 10 tonnes. It is a navigation aid, not a measured weight or performance claim for an individual stock unit.

Important: this is a model reference range, not a measured machine weight.

Classification uses the midpoint of each published model reference-weight range only to create one navigation group per listing. It is not the actual operating or shipping weight of that stock unit. Machines without a reference are excluded. Before transport, request measured dimensions and weight for the exact machine and shipping configuration.

When is the 6–10 tonne range considered?

Buyers often compare this range when access, work-space limits and mobilization matter. Possible discussions include utility, landscaping, small-site and general excavation work, but the job, attachment, reach, lift chart, ground conditions and exact machine configuration determine suitability.

Do not select a unit from tonnage alone. Compare the actual stock photos, model reference, attachment requirement, dimensions and the checks needed for the intended site.

How should transport be planned for this range?

Some machines in this range may offer more loading options than larger excavators, but no method should be assumed from the range label. Ask for measured transport length, width, height and weight for the exact shipping configuration.

Confirm which bucket or attachments travel with the unit and whether any preparation or dismantling is requested. The forwarder must quote the current route and actual machine.

Review the used excavator shipping process and quotation inputs.

What should be checked on a 6–10 tonne candidate?

Request identity and meter evidence, a cold start if arranged, visible leak checks, boom-arm-bucket linkage movement, slew and travel operation, undercarriage or tyre condition as applicable, and attachment fit. Record which tests were completed and which were not.

Compact dimensions do not prove light wear or easy transport. Keep visible observations separate from conclusions about remaining life or job capacity.

Plan a stock-specific inspection, yard visit or video verification.
